What course do I need to complete to start working in the real estate industry?

To work in the real estate industry in Queensland, you must as a minimum complete one of the following courses:

Registration Certificate Course – successful completion of this course gives you the educational requirements to apply to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading to be registered as a salesperson. A Registration Certificate only permits you to work as an employee in a real estate agency.

Real Estate Agent Licence Course (includes the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification) – successful completion of this course gives you the educational requirements to apply to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading to be licenced as a Real Estate Agent. A Real Estate Agent licence allows you to own or manage a real estate agency or work as an independent contractor to an agency. In addition to doing all the things a Registered Salesperson is authorised to do, a licensed Real Estate Agent can also operate and manage trust accounts.

Auctioneer Licence Course – is a course that enables you to become an auctioneer. Auctions have become a very popular way to market properties. This course will give you skills and Units of Competency to be able to conduct and sell real estate property by auction.

What is the difference between a Registration Certificate and a Real Estate Agent Licence?

A Registration Certificate will only allow you to work as an employee of a licenced Real Estate Agent. Students who choose this course are often entering the real etstate industry for the first time and want to work in an agency to to learn from experienced real estate agents.

A Real Estate Agent Licence (includes the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification) will allow you to own or start your own real estate agency, or work as an independent contractor to a real estate agency. Students who choose this course are often wanting to start their own agency, or be a contractor to an existing agency, or are simply wanting to have a higher level of training to stand out from their peers.

How long does it take to complete a course?

The great thing about doing your real estate course QLD with Validum Institute is that you are able to complete the course at your own pace, in your own time, and according to your schedule. Please note the following course durations:

Registration Certificate Course – you have 6 months starting from the day we send you your log in details.
Real Estate Agent Licence Course (includes the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification) – you have 12 months starting from the day we send you your log in details.
Upgrade Courses – you have 6 months starting from the day we send you your log in details.
Auctioneer Licence Course – you have 6 months starting from the day we send you your log in details.

You must submit all your Assessments 14 days before your Course Expiry Date to allow for marking and any resubmissions.

Unless prior arrangements have been made with Validum, we will not accept any assessments submitted after 14 days prior to your Course Expiry Date.

Our courses are self-paced, which means that it may not necessarily take you that long to complete your course. The length of time it takes you to complete your course depends on various factors, such as your experience and the amount of time you have available for self-paced study.

The Units of Competency (Units) in our current courses are from the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification.

What do I do after I complete my course?

After you complete your course and receive your Statement of Attainment, simply go to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading Queensland website and complete your Registration or Licence Application and pay your application fee. You will need to include a copy of your Statement of Attainment with your application.

What is a Student Lounge?

The Validum Student Lounge is a dedicated space you can come for peace and quiet and study for your course. The student lounge is located at the Institute at Brisbane Markets Precinct, Level 1, Fresh Centre Building, 385 Sherwood Road, ROCKLEA QLD 4106, just a 15 minute drive from Brisbane CBD, 31 minute away from Ipswich and about an hour away from Gold Coast.

The lounge offers a comfortable space with natural light and free parking, WIFI, computer use, tea/coffee facilities.

While in the Student Lounge, you also have access to our onsite trainers and assessors for one-on-one tuition and assistance.

I recently completed the full real estate license course with Validum Institute and am pleased with my choice after extensive online research. The course was affordably priced compared to other RTOs and offered entirely online, providing flexibility. The learning materials were organized into clusters, each focusing on different aspects of real estate practice. These included reading materials, videos, templates for various real estate forms, and links to relevant websites, all presented in an easy-to-understand format.Assessments comprised multiple-choice questions, open-ended questions, form completions, and role-plays simulating real-world scenarios, such as vendor interactions, conducting CMAs, and presenting to the RTA conciliator and the QCAT.I found the role-plays particularly challenging, as they tested essential skills required of a real estate agent. Despite the difficulty, I found these exercises were practical and beneficial for real-world application.Additionally, the assessors provided remarkably prompt feedback on assessments. The Cert came to my email very quick as well.The negative part: sometimes the assessment webpage has technical issues, such as the mouse pointer not being able to move to certain points where I want it to go or highlight the words I didn't want and delete together.Overall, my experience with Validum Institute was positive, and I would recommend this course to anyone seeking to be a real estate agent in QLD.

I have to say, I was skeptical about using another training provider outside of REIQ but I wasn't disappointed! The fee was nearly half of REIQ, the modules were thorough and in depth and the portal is so user friendly! The staff at Validum were extremely helpful any time I had a question, and rushed through marking my assessments as I was under pressure to complete this quickly. The team at Validum definitely make it fun to learn! Victor was super helpful and nothing is a problem for him. I was enrolled in the self-pace online method because I thought I can do it after hours. After 3 weeks into the course, I was finding it hard to knock it off so I decided to switch it to 1:1 face-to-face session to complete the rest of the clusters. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. The private 1:1 session was interactive, helpful and it allowed me to ask any questions. Abraham was my mentor, he not only helped me to complete the course he gave me valuable advice on how to be best agent and communicate like a pro.Thanks guys for an enjoyable learning experience. What a professional set up. The training facilitator Stephen Mc Cann twas terrific . He taught us well and was patient as he showed the correct path. To be honest it was worth every dollar I paid for the online course.I was expecting to get this certificate done as soon as possible to jump in to the field and thanks to the quick assement and process, I managed to receive the Certificate of Registration in less than a week.There is no single reason to not go ahead with Validum since it has all the information and prompt feedback/assessment system, most importantly their website was easy to use as if a 6 year old can utilize it.The questions/tasks were very straight forward and the information that I had to find in regards to the all the questions were key important.I give much appreciation to my assessor and the Validum team for all the prompt support.Wish you all a continous great success!

I am a very time poor multi-business owner and struggled to get this course complete, but the Validum team were exceptional in assisting me to get this done including setting up a day for me to do one on one training with an assessor to complete the rest of the course. They were patient, polite and always helpful even though I had to reschedule like 5 times. The training was very relevant and as a lawyer, I was impressed at the content in their learning portal and how specific and accurate it was, highlighting risks in a very useful and real way for new agents to consider. I'd give this company 6 stars if I could. Highly recommended.
