What is an Upgrade Course?
An Upgrade Course is simply studying the additional Units of Competency that you need to reach the next level of real estate licensing requirements.
There are many reasons why people wish to upgrade their real estate qualifications.
Very often, people like to start with their Registration Certificate and upgrade to their full Real Estate Agent Licence once they have had time in the real estate industry and have decided that it is a good career choice for them.
Whether you are wanting to upgrade to start your own agency or simply to increase your knowledge and professional development, Validum Institute is the right training institute for you.
Course Duration
You have up to 6 months to complete this course, starting from the day we send you your login details.
Did you know?
As a minimum to undertake an upgrade course, you must have already completed the Queensland Registration Certificate course (12 Units of Competency under the CPP41419 training package).
If you have previously completed the Units of Competency from CPP40307, these Units are no longer accepted by the Office of Fair Trading as of 31 December 2021.
You will need to either complete the Full Real Estate Agent Licence Course (which includes the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification) or apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Please contact us and speak to one of our trainers and assessors to discuss the RPL processes or visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information on RPL.
What Courses Can I Upgrade To?
- Full Real Estate Agent Licence Course (which includes the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification).
How Do I Start A Career In Real Estate?
- To become a real estate agent, property manager, administrator or agency owner in Queensland, you need to do is to obtain your Real Estate Registration Certificate or License. Check your eligibility with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading (OFT) HERE.
- Now you’re ready to study your real estate qualification with Validum Institute. Simply submit your details and we’ll discuss your career aspirations and which course is right for you.
- Once you complete your course with Validum, we will issue your Qualification and Statement of Attainment.
- Apply online, or in person, with the OFT for your Licence and include a copy of your Qualification and Statement of Attainment (note: this may take between 4-6 weeks to be approved).
- Start your dream job in real estate.

- CPPREP4125 – Transact in trust accounts
- CPPREP4503 – Present at hearings in real estate
- CPPREP4506 – Manage off-site and lone worker safety in real estate
- CPPREP5006 – Manage operational finances in the property industry
- CPPREP5010 – Manage customer service activities in the property industry

I am currently completing my real estate course through the Validum Institute. So far it has been the best training experience I've ever had including government training programs. The website is easy to navigate, no unnecessary assessment, an adequate amount of time to complete your course. I tried to complete my registration cert through REAA, which was the worst structured websites and training I've ever seen. Now I'm completing my cert IV through Validum it is a breeze, could not recommend enough if you're trying to become a real estate agent in Australia.

I recently completed the full real estate license course with Validum Institute and am pleased with my choice after extensive online research. The course was affordably priced compared to other RTOs and offered entirely online, providing flexibility. The learning materials were organized into clusters, each focusing on different aspects of real estate practice. These included reading materials, videos, templates for various real estate forms, and links to relevant websites, all presented in an easy-to-understand format.Assessments comprised multiple-choice questions, open-ended questions, form completions, and role-plays simulating real-world scenarios, such as vendor interactions, conducting CMAs, and presenting to the RTA conciliator and the QCAT.I found the role-plays particularly challenging, as they tested essential skills required of a real estate agent. Despite the difficulty, I found these exercises were practical and beneficial for real-world application.Additionally, the assessors provided remarkably prompt feedback on assessments. The Cert came to my email very quick as well.The negative part: sometimes the assessment webpage has technical issues, such as the mouse pointer not being able to move to certain points where I want it to go or highlight the words I didn't want and delete together.Overall, my experience with Validum Institute was positive, and I would recommend this course to anyone seeking to be a real estate agent in QLD.

I recently completed my Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, Validum was awesome! The course was well structured and interesting, it kept me engaged the whole time. The portal is very user friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get into Real Estate.

I have to say, I was skeptical about using another training provider outside of REIQ but I wasn't disappointed! The fee was nearly half of REIQ, the modules were thorough and in depth and the portal is so user friendly! The staff at Validum were extremely helpful any time I had a question, and rushed through marking my assessments as I was under pressure to complete this quickly. I sincerely can't recommend them enough! Thanks for a great training experience Validum!

Real Estate is an ever expanding field. Getting into the field is very easy but bits and pieces attached to it are very important. One of those important component is 'relevant education in the field' and the 'course provider'. I was referred by one of my friends to go to "VALIDUM Institute Real Estate Training, Brisbane".My real estate journey couldn't be easy to start with, if I couldn't find Validum. The team at Validum definitely make it fun to learn! Victor was super helpful and nothing is a problem for him. I was enrolled in the self-pace online method because I thought I can do it after hours. After 3 weeks into the course, I was finding it hard to knock it off so I decided to switch it to 1:1 face-to-face session to complete the rest of the clusters. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. The private 1:1 session was interactive, helpful and it allowed me to ask any questions. Abraham was my mentor, he not only helped me to complete the course he gave me valuable advice on how to be best agent and communicate like a pro.Thanks guys for an enjoyable learning experience. Definitely worth it to register the on-campus method.

Embarking on my real estate license training at Validum Institute, I was a bit overwhelmed initially. The best decision I made was to go into the Validum Institute offices and talk directly with the trainers, John and Trent. Not only were they calm and patient with me, but they went out of their way to help everyone there. It was such a relief to be told that most people find one of the questions challenging. After that, I found the rest of the course flowed and I finished the course much quicker than I had expected. I completed the Cert IV with Validum online. The online platform was easy to use and navigate. Content is excellent and a great mix of theoretical and practical work. Feedback from Assessor was direct and useful with sound guidance provided to improve. Online is probably not for everyone but for those who enjoy self-paced work the Validum platform is excellent.

I was hesitant at first to join Validum as I felt I wanted to be in a classroom as this is how I learn the best. After speaking to Validum on the phone they informed me that I could come in to their student lounge to study and talk to trainers and assessors as well. I quickly signed up for the Registration course and just loved the experience, great content, great structured learning and quick feedback on your submissions. What a professional set up. The training facilitator Stephen Mc Cann twas terrific . He taught us well and was patient as he showed the correct path. The money he saved me just from his information and correcting my ignorance through actual sales stories saved me more than we paid for the course. Validum did a good job with this course. Detailed Learner Notes with each Unit, plus the encouragement and feedback from the tutors, makes the course pretty much foolproof. Online courses are so convenient - anyone can fit it into their schedule.
